P1/P2 Creative Writing Workshops (2020 school level)

Our tour guide, Moana, will be taking the kids on a holiday trip across Hawaii!

First up! The kids will have an enchanting encounter with the dolphins in the private lagoon of Oahu Kahala Hotel & Resort as they learn how to unpack the topic of a story and link different parts of the story together.

Next, they can wind down and have some leisure time at the famous Waikiki beach. Perhaps some snorkeling for those that love the water and who knows, they may even spot some fascinating sea creatures! Afterwards, they can relax on the sandy beach as they ponder about the different ways they can express an emotion while enjoying the spectacular sunset. All this relaxation will have them charged up for the next trip, where they will be exposed to subject-specific vocabulary as they uncover the history behind Wailua Falls in Kauai Island.

The final stop of the holiday will be at Diamond Head Crater. Here, the kids will be taking a hike and be introduced to a model essay before they write their own compositions. This serves as a reflection of the whole experience of their trip.

Sounds exciting? What are you waiting for! Sign up for this trip now!

P3/P4 Creative Writing Workshops (2020 school level)

Ever watched Madagascar and wondered why Marty the Zebra wanted to return to the wild? What about watching how lions behave in their natural habitat? Are these questions you have in your head but unable to find the answers to? Why not join us on an exciting Safari Excursion across Africa as you have a close encounter with these animals and perhaps find answers to those questions.

The kids will first be learning how to unpack a topic and understand the requirements for the topic before earning a ticket to enter the Safari. Splash! As soon as the kids enter the Safari, they may be given a warm welcome by the hippopotamuses bathing in the nearby rivers!

To dry off their soaked clothing, the kids can enjoy a slow ride on the elephants under the sun. While they are enjoying the view from the elephants’ back, they may encounter something shocking during the ride. After witnessing the incident, the kids will learn how to express the emotions that they feel in various ways.

Next, the king of the beasts and its pride will await the arrival of the kids in the grasslands as they expand their vocabulary using subject-specific phrases. After an intimidating encounter with the lions, they will be able to 'upsize' their vocabulary further while gazing at the tall giraffes feeding on the leaves of the trees.

Finally, the excursion will have to come to an end. The kids will look back at the time they spent at the safari. They will then be exposed to a model essay before pending down their experience in the form of their own compositions.

If you love animals, this safari excursion is the perfect getaway for you! Do not let this opportunity go to waste and sign up now!

P5 Creative Writing Workshops (2020 school level)

Ever wanted to have a first-hand experience at skydiving? Skydiving is not an activity for the faint-hearted and perhaps after coming to our workshop, you may have second thoughts about it.

To assess if the children are ready to skydive, they will need to first go through a training to determine whether they are physically and mentally ready to do so. This is done through unpacking a topic and understanding the requirements for the topic.

For those who pass the first round, congratulations but hold your horses. As the children harness up and get ready to jump out of the plane, they will  learn how to express the emotions that they feel in various ways as some of them may get cold feet while others may be pumped with adrenaline.

It will be a shame to back out after passing the training and making it all the way to the air. As such, everyone will brace themselves to hop out of the plane. As the children start their descent, they will scan their surroundings, count their lucky stars and hope that they will not be experiencing any bad weather. Learning weather-related idioms will help the kids to create more interesting and colourful stories!

Once they are about to touch down, it will be the time to open their parachutes! At this juncture, the children will expand their arsenal of words through new subject-specific terminology and vocabulary!

After reaching the ground, they will look back at the time spent on skydiving and craft their own compositions!

Excited to try something different? Why not come down and join this workshop!
