At Writers' Guild, we embrace the profound significance of a magical writing experience. That is why, during our 2025 December Holiday Programme 2-Day workshop, as we revel in the spirit of Christmas, our overarching theme revolves around the exquisite treasure of GIVING.

Not only will your child embark on an enlightening journey to discover an array of 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬 that will effortlessly 𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐞 their composition skills, but they will also become 𝙫𝙞𝙧𝙩𝙪𝙤𝙨𝙤𝙨 in the art of character development. Our intention is to kindle the 🔥 𝐟𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 🔥 within our students, infusing them with the mastery of writing techniques alongside the virtues of benevolence and empathy, themes frequently encountered in examinations. Our writing programme is brimming with engaging, holiday-inspired writing activities that will have your child eagerly picking up their pencils and pens! From brainstorming their stories with Santa Claus to composing their version of a fun-filled story, every activity is designed to be both educational and fun.

Let your child's imagination run wild as they embark on creative storytelling adventures. Whether it is exploring the North Pole, going on a magical sleigh ride with Santa or helping elves solve holiday mysteries, our young writers will have a blast weaving their narratives.

They will learn the art of crafting characters, developing plotlines and adding a sprinkle of enchantment to their tales. It is a chance for them to see their creativity come to life on paper.

Apart from enlarging your child's vocabulary, we will also guide them in using information from the text to deduce correct answers in the cloze passage, thereby enhancing their critical thinking abilities.

Our holiday-themed writing programme is more than just words. It is an opportunity for your child to experience the magic and excitement of the season. With the festivity-themed lessons and cheerful teachers, we aim to create a warm and welcoming environment.

The workshop teaches students the use of enchanting memory aids known as mnemonics. These aids assist students in storing fresh visual information into their long-term memory, guaranteeing that the newly acquired vocabulary becomes deeply embedded in their consciousness.

Finally, guided by our amiable educators, your child will apply all they have absorbed by composing a four-paragraph essay.

Do not let seemingly harmless topics deceive you! In our Primary 3/4 program, we are dedicated to preventing your child from inadvertently omitting vital elements in their storytelling. Our in-house teachers are well-prepared to rectify any misunderstandings related to key concepts.

The holiday programme also explores the art of stirring emotions within essays. Did you realise that effectively conveying emotions in your narrative can positively impact both language and content assessments? We will delve into the emotions of "shock" and "sympathy" – versatile emotions that can enhance a wide variety of stories.

Furthermore, we will introduce your child to a cloze passage and a sample essay. This not only enhances their vocabulary but also stimulates their ability to recall information freely, strengthens their grasp of grammar and provides them with valuable exposure to essential techniques for crafting an excellent composition.

Specialised terminology related to the subject matter will be introduced to enable the creation of immersive settings in the narrative. Students will receive guidance on how to captivate their teachers with vibrant and detailed descriptions of their surroundings.

Furthermore, the juxtaposition of Temptation Versus Conscience will infuse their essay with an illuminating dimension of significance, drawing forth the true essence of selflessness.

"Show Not Tell" is a frequently taught technique in educational settings. Nevertheless, by embracing Writers' Guild's "5S" method encompassing "Simile, Setting, Showing Action, Super-Swap Words, Strength," your child can effortlessly grasp the concept and catapult their writing abilities to unprecedented heights.

Last but certainly not least, once these essential techniques are mastered, they will fashion their own plotline like a sculptor crafting a masterpiece, ultimately giving birth to their distinctive and original piece of literary art.

• Writers' Guild reserves the right to make all changes to the conduct of classes, including but not limited to, transferring, combining, dividing or dissolving a class, changing the teachers, rescheduling classes, and varying the manner in which classes are conducted, such variation to include the conducting of classes online (“Pure Online Classes”).

• There will be no replacement or make up sessions if students fail to attend the Workshop.

• Writers' Guild reserves the right to vary these terms and conditions without prior notice.

• Lesson fees are strictly non-transferable and non-refundable, unless with submission of valid medical certificates or official letters from the school.
