Like how our K-pop idols demonstrate strong visuals and get our hearts fluttering, we teach our students to use visually arresting techniques that will set their reader’s heart afire and make their reader fall in love with their writing!
Dear parents,
😲Do you know that…
- a COMMON error that students make in COMMON TOPICS is not writing sufficiently about the keyword?
- KEY EMOTIONS are the secret weapon to establishing higher CONTENT and LANGUAGE marks in the examinations?
- an absence OF CHARACTER GROWTH and REFLECTION could cause your child’s story to sound abrupt and lack insightfulness?
✨If you want your children to…
- DAZZLE their examiners right from the get-go and STAND OUT from the crowd; have DRAMA, OOMPH and EMOTION oozing from their compositions; and IMPROVE their plotlines and include impactful TECHNIQUES
🙌 Join us for our 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐖𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐬!
Headlined by our Writing Specialists, our engaging and high-energy Writing Workshops will reel our students in with common 𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙥 𝙩𝙤𝙥𝙞𝙘𝙨 like ‘Being Caught-Red Handed’ and ‘A Terrifying Experience’, seen widely in numerous schools' examinations. Not only will we help to identify and prevent students from falling into those potholes, we empower students to 𝙗𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙢 methodically to ensure they avoid being stumped in the examination hall. Moreover, our Specialists will do a deep dive into a text which will help your child to analyse the ingredients of a good story, uncover better vocabulary, and examine how our WG's 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬 are woven into the essays.
𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐏𝟑-𝟒 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬, the techniques of Self-Characterisation Introduction and Flashforward provides a curious insight into the background of the character, hooking the reader deep into the story. This draws the audience in, making them completely invested in the writer's storytelling!
𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐏𝟓-𝟔 𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬, we are imparting the Captivating Complication Introduction! This will get their reader's heart pumping and blood racing from the get-go!
Both types of introductions can be applied for many types of storylines and topics that are related to negative outcomes, and provide a mature reflection on the part of the writer. Our easy-to-apply and memorable writing techniques ensure that our students enthusiastically employ them into their essays. We've got you for Content; we've got you for Language too! Does your child need that final push? Allow your child to MAKE THAT 𝐖𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐒' 𝐆𝐔𝐈𝐋𝐃 𝐃𝐈𝐅𝐅𝐄𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄 in their stories! Wait no more - drop us a text or call at any of our outlets!

"I enrolled my boy for a full two-day Holiday programme at Writers' Guild at Northpoint in May 2023. He really enjoyed the programme very much! He has shared with me the various writing techniques that teacher taught him in the class. The teacher is also energetic and passionate. She made effort to incorporate many games into the programme. This helped engage the kids and keep the class interesting for them. I also appreciate that the teacher takes time to give feedback so that I know what has been taught in class and how I can help reinforce my boy's learning. I highly recommended the programme, and we definitely had a wonderful experience at the Writers' Guild." - Tian Kai's mummy
"I was searching for an interesting creative writing class for Meng En when I saw the Writers Guild June holidays programme at Northpoint. He didn't like to write compositions and did not wish to go initially. But after he attended the 1st day, he enjoyed the class! The teacher conducted the class in a fun and interesting way. She is very friendly and detailed in giving feedback and suggestions about Meng En's writing. There are a lot of techniques learnt and Meng En is able to apply most of them in the composition. The structure of the contents in the worksheets also helps him to learn how to write a composition, describe different characters, the emotions and actions of the characters in the composition. Meng En also learnt a lot of new words and phrases that can apply in the composition. Thanks a lot to the teacher for her guidance!" - Meng En's mummy

Our 𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐚𝐭 𝐖𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬' 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 Writing Programme:
🎈𝐆𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞: At Writers’ Guild, learning isn't just effective, it is exhilarating! Every lesson is a gamified adventure, brimming with 𝗹𝗮𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗲𝗿𝘀. We transform traditional lessons into exciting quests, ensuring students are entertained while they learn.
🤝𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩 𝐒𝐲𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚 𝐓𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐭: Our unique group point system fosters a positive, competitive spirit. As students see their peers excel, they are 𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 to contribute, learning phrases and concepts to support their team. This collaborative environment, enhanced by rewards like specific positive affirmations and small end-of-class gifts, proves more impactful than traditional 1-on-1 tutoring.
🎯𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞: We prioritise deep understanding and lasting retention over mere completion of tasks. Our approach ensures each student grasps the core concepts, enabling them to apply their knowledge confidently. In addition, our teachers do 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 class time so students can focus on learning new writing techniques in a truly engaging and supportive environment.
💡𝐈𝐧-𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐡, 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐅𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤: Our cornerstone, 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫'𝐬 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐭 , is a comprehensive 𝟯-𝗽𝗮𝗴𝗲 feedback report that goes beyond typical marking. It takes an average of 𝟭 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝟭 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. In fact, each WG teacher dedicates 𝐚 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠. This commitment reflects in the quality of our feedback, tailored to each student's needs and progress.
🔍𝐕𝐚𝐮𝐥𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬: With our 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁 𝗘𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀™ writing programme, students gain access to a 𝘃𝗮𝘂𝗹𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀 that can be easily applied to enhance the quality of their writing. We believe that vocabulary should never be learnt in isolation, which is why we 𝘁𝗶𝗲 𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗯𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀 such as our proprietary method 𝗪𝗢𝗪𝗙𝗔𝗧𝗕™, so that students can easily remember and apply new words in context.
